Brakes Poached Eggs from Fresh Pak win at Quality Food Awards 2019
Our British Lion Free Range Poached Eggs received further industry recognition last week. The product, one of a range that we supply to Brakes, was declared the winner in the Foodservice Dairy category at the 2019 Quality Food and Drink Awards.
The awards have been running for 40 years. They take place annually with a judging panel made up of experts from across the food industry. The panel includes nutritionists, chefs, food technologists and packaging experts.
The ‘Q’ logo displayed on the winning products’ packaging has become the most recognisable mark of excellence for food and drink.
Two years of scientific research have gone into the development of our poached eggs. They go through a 20+ stage process of cooking and cooling to ensure the whites are fully cooked, the yolks are pasteurised and the yolks remain deliciously golden and oozy. Giving the end user the convenience of needing to heat for just a few seconds in the microwave before serving. And the confidence that they will be perfectly poached.
We have been supplying Brakes with the ready to use poached eggs since March 2019.
Asda Coronation Chicken, also manufactured by Fresh Pak, won The Delicatessen Goods – Other trophy at the awards. Ideal for sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes, the flavour remains a favourite for the British public.
